Mid size coin with lot of heft. 1.5 inches 4 mm thick antique silver. Available in other metal colors. 300 coins minted. The front has wonderful raised 3-D. The metal work ranges from brushed to shiny. It shows a rocky skyline with plants and a planet that looks like Mars in the sky. The rim has script that reads "Anza-Borrego Desert San Diego County Geocachers". The reverse has the medallion done in deep relief from the rim. There is an enamel mountain goat and foreground are done in black enamel. The background looks like moon terrain and covers the entire background. The rim says "2006". Excellent coin.
Info on the coin: The geocoin commemorates NCad's death-defying journey to the "#2 Rattler Cache" (GCG7WK) on June 7, 2003 in the Anza Borrego Desert in California, which he describes in his log as CACHE OF DEATH!! Described.
This cache was one of 25 caches of the "Sea to Sea Trail Geocaching Challenge", which started at midnight on June 6, 2003, in which the aim was to find these 25 geocaches that were hidden along the entire 225-kilometer "San Diego Sea To Sea Trail".new "Anza-Borrego Desert GeoCoin", which was produced in an edition of 300 pieces in antique silver and bronze XLE10.
The geocoin has very nice 3D work on both sides. The obverse with its great relief shows a rocky skyline with plants and a planet in the sky reminiscent of Mars. The plant depictions are rich in detail. The metalwork ranges from brushed to shiny. All around it is ANZA-BORREGO DESERT SAN DIEGO COUNTY GEOCACHERS
So many of my trackables have been muggled that I only release new GCs as virtuals. If you do not approve, please leave it in the cache for a cacher who understands. Thanks. CR

Thanks to the 2023 Christmas Day blizzard my daughter, JMVonFange, was delayed in heading home so we spent the bonus time together comparing our caching statistics including trackables discovered and looking through our geocaching pictures. JM has discovered significantly more trackables that I have mainly because while we were staying home during the pandemic she spent time online and spotted numerous TBs that were being shared virtually on various social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, etc. Thankfully, she still had a few notes that helped guide my search for the same trackables that she had already discovered. After looking at the TB page for each of the TBs that she had discovered, I found that a large number all belonged to several individuals and sent a message to them individually inquiring about permission to log their trackables. This travel bug was on the list that you shared with me.
