About This Item

ICU by fgoerke Geocoin - Antique Gold RE

Teil der Coinsammlung der Kanustation Mirow / poseptun

The coin is a socalled "spinner", i.e. the "eye" at the top of the pyramid is mounted on a vetical axis and is free to turn around it. One side of the coin has the text "I.C.U.", which presumably is to be interpreted as "I see you". The other side has the text  "Semper-Fidelis-Geocaching". The motto Semper Fidelis, "always faithfull", is well known as the motto of the American Marine Corps. The construction with the all-seing eye at the top of the pyramid is also well known from The Great Seal of the United States, as seen, for example, on the US $1 bills.
