I'm not particularly keen on keeping geocoins locked away at home, when their primary purpose is to celebrate geocaching; ideally they should be available to see by all geocachers. However, this is such a special and irreplaceable coin for us that we are reluctant to let it stray too far!
Therefore I have chosen to keep it as a SEMI-RESIDENTIAL geocoin within its home cache. What does this mean? At all times, there is a laminated copy of the Aladdin's Lamp geocoin within the cache; please don't remove it as it wants to be discovered, but does not wish to travel!
Furthermore, if I am given a little notice (you don't need to be too specific!) I will happily leave the geocoin itself for discovery in the cache for a couple of weeks at a time; I would just rather not leave it there permanently.
Of course, on this trackable's webpage it will appear to be "In the hands of abanazar", although the geocoin and/or its laminate copy will actually always be available in its home cache.
This geocoin was kindly made and awarded by Amberel, for the cache Open Sesame: The Quest for Aladdin's Lamp. It is made of brass and the photos don't really do it justice. Amberel did an amazing job designing and manufacturing this coin, and it is the Abanazar Family's most treasured geocoin

After opening the lamp the (smaller than expected) genie granted me one wish. In hindsight I could have chosen wiser than to discover a geocoin. Oh well. I've discovered a fair few top cache coins and hopefully I will be able to see the real thing one day.

Another worthy top cache award. Both Abanazar and Amberel must be congratulated for their work. Shame the weather from Aladdin's tale wasn't present this Easter weekend.

Having discovered a pale imitation in Aladdin's cave, it was good to see the real thing, along with its owner, in a highly appropriate hostelry.

Loved the caving adventure with my brother. Cool treasure. The Hollings part of Hollingsgrose was too big to fit down the cave :( at least thats what he said. You can play a great game of spider sniffing in here. lots of the little fellows and their eyes glow green in your head lamp beam.

We couldn't resist another return visit. A visit on a woodland walk with Hollingsgrose, aka pljg sibling. We would have asked for the real thing to be left but this was an impromptu trip during a belated Christmas visit from California. If we had had more time we would have ventured into a more extensive cave but his one still made for a good challenge. Now off to Tucker's Grave for some cider.

Well, we discovered a facsimilie- but the first to "discover" this prestigious trackable. Even this was enough of a draw to prompt a return to Aladdin's Cave. This time with the pljg seniors, aka Gwavallers. Perhaps one day we will ask for the real thing to be left for a visit.

We were browsing a bric-a-brac stall today when - alakazam! - Mr Abanazar couldn't believe his eyes. We just had to have it, and fortunately we had a sufficient quantity of shekels about us. Later, Mrs Abanazar offered to clean it up. Well, she started polishing … you can guess the rest.
