About This Item

The device

This is a reverse geocache. It's a box that contains a gps module, a microprocessor, a servo and 3 russian nixie display tubes. It is programmed with target coordinates. When you press the button on the lid, it will switch on and try to get a gps fix. When it got a fix, the distance to the target is calculated and displayed on the tubes (in kilometers down to 0.01km precision).

When the box is within a 250 meters radius of the target coordinates the servo will unlock the box from inside and it can be opened. It contains a usb cable and instructions on programming new target coordinates.
