Current GOAL

This little fellah is one of four in a race to get to Tacoma, Washington and then beyond! Help him meet his goal!  He loves water.  I would love photos of him especially near fountains, lakes, ponds!

Rubber Ducks Dumped in 1992 Make a Strange Voyage...

It was January of 1992. A cargo ship departing from Hong Kong en Route to Tacoma, Wash. lost 29,000 rubber duckies, froggies, turtles, and other bathtub toys due to some unfortunate accident... or perhaps it was a daring escape!  Most of the duckies traveled south and landed on the shores of Australia, Indonesia, and South America.  The rest of the rubber duckies decided to make their fortune by going north to the Arctic. It was a long and treacherous journey. They ended up frozen in ice!  But their story doesn't end there. They broke free after a few years and headed straight towards Britain in summer of 2007.  Their voyage lasted over fifteen years. They were destined to be mere bathtub toys, but instead they traveled the world and taught scientists a lot about how the ocean currents work!

Ok, you ready for this one? 2 years ago, Lorna and I each released 4 Rubber Duckie Trackables at MWGB in a race to reach Tacoma, WA.

Two of mine made it within 30 miles of Tacoma WITHIN THE FIRST WEEK and then were MUGGLED! Another went missing in a cache 18 months ago.

I just received this email from Bluedrgn52 about my last one:

"So I went to drop off Mr. Quackers (Duckie Race - RITZ QUACKERS (magenta tag)) when I was visiting my step daughter this weekend in Bellingham, Wa. We put him in her purse and hit the gym, then were going to drop him off on our way home. We put our purses into gym lockers and when we came back from working out, her gym locker had been broken in to. They tampered with mine, but I got lucky and they weren't able to get into it. However, Mr Duckie was stolen along with her purse, iphone, wallet, and all her important info.

Poor Mr. Quackers. I have no idea if the thief will throw him away or possibly get into geocaching due to stealing him and help him on his way. However, he is no longer in my hands, I am sad to say. I had hoped to get him pushed along. :(

I wanted to inform you of these tragic events. Poor Mr. Quackers. :("

My ducks are jinxed! Congrats to WikidKriket for the win! And thank you, Bluedrgn52, for letting me know. I'm glad you both are OK.

At the Livonia Meet n Greet...Scrapcat, Tageez, Commander Overlord + others, shared a HUGE quantity of trackables!

In my case, LincolnsAunt worked with Commander and Scrapcat to get a list together.
Just one of the reasons I date one of these people and hang out with the others...they are great! I'll let you figure out which is which :)

Thanks for all the sharing and documenting work done on these!
