Current Goal

This trackable has the modest goal to circulate more than five years and to be moved by at least 25 cachers. That is a rate of five drops per year for five years, or a drop every 73 days.  As of 4-Aug-20 it had survived for 151 days and had been moved by 2 cachers, for an average release every 76 days.

No permission is needed to leave the U.S.  While in the U.S., please drop it in a Premium Member only OR a rural cache near a busy trail or road. Do not place it in an urban cache or abandon it at a caching event where there is no security.  Transport the bug in the original plastic bag for as long as the bag lasts; the bag keeps the trackable clean, protects the number and prevents tangling with other items.  Otherwise, take the trackable anywhere you wish.

Trackable photos are appreciated, but do not show the tracking number. The images will be re-posted here.

About This Item

Each black wheel in this series of travel bugs represents one of the hundred most collected American-made production automobiles (see here). The TBs in this collection include only cars made between the years of my birth and marriage…these are some of the cars I grew up with. A few had limited production and cost a fortune whereas others were sold to families and were relatively inexpensive. Some had eye-catching designs, others had technological advances, still others had chassis' that were popular fodder for later street rods. Whatever the case, there is somehing about all of them that makes collectors compete for ownership.

Available in either sedan or convertible body styles, all T&C’s feature the same gorgeous exterior wood frame and paneling construction that make them a sensational standout. Just 8,368 were built over a three-year period; the ’46 versions are the only ones with real wood paneling. Nonetheless, they are all equally sought after, and are the only post-war cars given Full Classic status by the Classic Car Club of America.
