Where are we going? And why are we in this handbasket?
Craig Hedge Hopper Parchman and MustangJoni - a geocaching couple - both of them deceased shortly one after the other in 2018 and in 2020. Craig wrote in 2019: A little history for this coin. Last year MustangJoni and I decided to make a joint coin. I got one side and she got one side. It was to be a “fun” coin and to be used for trading. We intended to debut it at last years (2018) GeoWoodstock, but it did not come in on time. After that disappointment, we were going to debut it at last years (2018) GeoCoinFest. Well, as you know, she got cancer and died just prior to the event. The coin is actually called “HH & MJ’s Geocaching Adventures”. It is pretty much a memorial coin now with a VERY limited distribution of 25 pieces.
So in consequence only three coins have been activated until today (07/17/2024) - one of them by Hedge Hopper...
Joni from Irving near Dallas, Texas, came to caching in May 2005 and gave herself the nickname MustangJoni because she had been driving her FORD Mustang for years and it had grown on her. Unfortunately, MustangJoni passed away far too young in the summer of 2018.
The meaning of "Keep Paddling! / I hear banjos! is a direct reference to the Burt Reynolds movie of 1972:
Men on a canoeing trip were menaced and molested by a bunch of rednecks . One had a mentally deficient son who played a banjo. The banjo music also became the theme music of the movie. It's very catchy. You'd probably recognize it. Anyway,the “paddle faster,I hear banjos” became a joke,meaning there are some really stupid people in the immediate area.

Diese wundervolle Coin durfte wir bei unserem "Coin-Aussteller-Nachbarn" in Mirow bewundern.
Gemeinsam mit Herrn Compubaer haben wir uns den Wind um die Nase wehen lassen und Interessierten unsere Coins gezeigt.
Diese Coin ist Teil einer beeindruckenden Sammlung mit vielen besonderen Schätzchen. Es war uns eine Ehre, darin stöbern zu dürfen.
Die Auflistung der Trackingnummern hat dankenswerter Weise Polyanthum übernommen, so konnten wir uns aufs Staunen konzentrieren!
