DEUTSCH:
Der Ausspruch von Albert Einstein „Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.“ ergänzt das Foto.
ENGLISH:
On September 30, 2001, to celebrate his 100th cache find, Moun10Bike placed "Moun10Bike Geocoin #002", which he designed himself, together with Jeremy Irish, the founder of Groundspeak, in the "Light House Point" cache.
A special feature of these and the other "Moun10Bike" geocoins was that they were entered with their own icon on the new GC.com tracking platform for Travel Bugs with the coin number and could therefore be logged and tracked at the same time.
After a 2nd version of the Moun10Bike Geocoin, the first copy of which the owner placed in his "Moun10Bike Maze Multicache" (GCH6R6) on February 21, 2004, Jon presented the first Geocoin of his 3rd edition on October 29, 2005 at an event in Spokane , Washington.
This geocoin is also part of the 3rd edition and has a very interesting history, which is an example of geocaching friendships across national borders.
In August 2007, Moun10Bike visited the Netherlands together with three cacher friends and met in Amsterdam with the Dutch cachers Twin Peaks and ZAteam for a joint tour. He placed this geocoin in one of the caches, which was found 2 days later by mvs Team Pooh.
In September 2019, the first written contact with Marianne from mvs Team Pooh and Compubaer from Germany took place. It was about the history of their first own geocoin. In the following years, Marianne helped intensively with the online project “Little Stories from the First Geocoin Years”.
Full of surprise and with particularly great joy, Compubaer discovered this Moun10Bike Geocoin in the last shipment as a very special friendship and Christmas gift.
The 51 x 5 mm nickel coin in the shape of a compass rose or a gear has the Moun10Bike logo in the center.
The back of the geocoin shows the landscape at Priest Lake in Idaho, more specifically the view from Moun10Bike's "Cougar Rock Cache" (GCA7A) when the sun is low. Albert Einstein's saying “Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.” complements the photo. As in the 2nd edition, the design of this coin contains the key to finding a cache for the mystery GC3NXHK "got coin? (v3 Moun10Bike Geocoins)", which has now been archived.
Over the next few years, Moun10Bike released another 3 editions of his Geocoin in varying appearances, all of which remain in his possession as they move from cache to cache, given away by him, traded, or kept by the finder.
