About This Item

AMTG Bad Andy GC 1

Mid to large size coin with heft. LOTS of gold shine. The front shows wonderful 3-D work of a man's face. It stands out from the coin. The medallion background metal is smooth and has lots of shine.  The inner edge of the rim has raised script.  It reads "Mutuus supsum vel mutuus parilis and MMVI" (2006). The rim work is delicate 3-D and very well done. The reverse continues with the gold shine and show a monkey jumping out of an ammo can.  The medallion also has raiesd scritp that reads "Bad Andy"  The rim work is delicate and well done.  There is a commercial "G" on the ammo can.  A nice coin.

Info on the coin:  At the end of December 2005, BadAndy announced his first own personal coin in the forum for pre-sale. 500 coins were to be minted by CoinsAndPins and then appeared on January 23, 2006.

Based on the model of a Morgan silver dollar, BadAndy's bust can be seen on the front of this 40 x 5 mm geocoin facing to the left. The Latin words "**MUTUUS * SURSUM * VEL * MUTUUS * PARILIS**", i.e. "Trade up or Trade Even". This was BadAndy's motto of leaving something better or at least as good in the cache as was taken out.
The Roman year MMVI for the year of publication 2006 complements the front page of the Geocoin at the bottom.

On the back is the BadAndy avatar jumping out of an AmmoBox, below his nickname and above it the tracking information.
In addition to the antique silver coins, BadAndy had 2 antique gold coins, 115 geocoins (0.925 silver-plated), 115 geocoins (24 carat gold-plated), 15 copper coins and 5 black nickel coins minted. (Source: TBTH2P).

So many of my GCs have been muggled that I only release new GCs as virtuals. If you do not approve of this, please leave it in the cache for a cacher who understands. Thanks. JR

Thanks to the 2023 Christmas Day blizzard my daughter, JMVonFange, was delayed in heading home so we spent the bonus time together comparing our caching statistics including trackables discovered and looking through our geocaching pictures. JM has discovered significantly more trackables that I have mainly because while we were staying home during the pandemic she spent time online and spotted numerous TBs that were being shared virtually on various social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, etc. Thankfully, she still had a few notes that helped guide my search for the same trackables that she had already discovered. After looking at the TB page for each of the TBs that she had discovered, I found that a large number all belonged to several individuals and sent a message to them individually inquiring about permission to log their trackables. This travel bug was on the list that you shared with me.
