About This Item

GCC Aug 2005 - March 2006 - ROT 13

Teil der Coinsammlung der Kanustation Mirow / poseptun

GCC Aug 2005 – March 2006, The first 9 coins issued by the Geocoin Club were all under this series.

January 2006 - ROT13 - Not So Much a Revolution

This is the 7th geocoin produced by the Geocoin Club. From the Geocoinclub blog: "Trippy, Rusty and I were shocked to see just how many people were not aware of the ROT-13 cipher used to obscure hints on Geocaching.com cache pages. This really is a sign that Paperless Caching has become the method of choice for more and more geocachers. In the "Old Days" when we all used to print out every cache page, the hints were coded using ROT-13 to make you work to get the hint. Some of us still try to decode it on the trail, but I think that population is fewer and fewer these days."

Most of the text on the Geocoin is ROT13 coded as follows:

Obverse Coded:
JJJ.TRBPBVAPYHO.PBZ - WNAHNEL 2006

Obverse Decoded:
WWW.GEOCOINCLUB.COM - JANUARY 2006

Reverse Coded:
FBZRGVZRF VG'F
ABG NOBHG GUR AHZOREF!
GENPXNOYR NG JJJ.TRBPNPUVAT.PBZ
