We've had this Geo-Coin since February and it has made some travels! We were super excited to have our first trackable, however, given our experience with it, I am not sure if it was good, or bad luck to have it!!!
Since this is supposed to travel near water caches, we originally planned to drop it in Lake Utah by Lehi, UT (GC27EKG), however, we did not find the cache and it has now been archived until the owner replaces it. We then planned to drop it on our way back home at Shoshone Falls in Twin Falls, ID. Things did not work out as planned since we were driving past Twin Falls at 1AM! Our next plan was to take it near the Snake River. We finally got a nice Saturday so we went to Celebration Park, near Melba, ID. There were 3 caches we planned to go to, however, on the first one, the terrain was a bit to steep for us and our kids(GCA0A0), the other two, we skunked again(GCMAB0 and GCMNTW)!
On our way back home, we stopped in Kuna, ID where we had coordinates from a cache we had not found the year before GC1724E. Given our now ample geocaching experience 8:), we had more ideas for it so we stopped and found it right away. The cache was in a really bad shape but we cleaned things up and added our trackable there. You may ask, isn't this supposed to be near water? Yes, cache GC1724E just happened to be next to Indian Creek so that fulfills the commitment! So we thought! Two days later I was really happy to log our visit and update the location of this geo-coin, when to my surprise, I can't find the cache in the map! WHAT? It was there, we found it, we found a log, wet but it was there! After finding the cache number in my GPS, I looked it up, and lo-and-behold, that cache has been archived! ARGHHHHHHH!!!! Now, I have to make another trip to retrieve, this geo-coin and find a new home for it, AGAIN!
Finally we made the trip and moved it upstream Indian Creek to a new home (GCX015), which luckily, is still active, AND is Near WATER!!!! Pictures will be forthcoming!
