This is Alaska's oldest active geocache, so we had to find this peace of history.  Alaska's second oldest cache, GC6E is also in Sitka.  Sitka played an important role in Alaska's early European-era history.

This is the oldest Alaskan cache we have found to date and the one we choose for our Fairbanks North Star Borough find.  I found it on January 29, 2005, with Shovelman, on a day featuring blue skies and -15° temperatures.

Chena Cache - Fairbanks North Star Borough

This cache is located along the shore of Solomon Lake above the Port of Valdez.  I logged it on May 25, 2007, as our 1300th find.  It was a worthy location of a milestone due to its beautiful mountain location.

The entire Ladybug Kids team visited this cache on April 14, 2005.  We enjoyed a sunny picnic lunch on the shores of the still frozen lake before continuing our journey to Anchorage.

Denali Otto Lake - Denali Borough

I climbed Donnelly Dome with RLTW and Shovelman on August 19, 2005, and found this cache.  It's a fun little climb of a prominent landmark south of Delta Junction.  Unfortunately, it was smokey from forest fires the day we did the hike, so the visibility wasn't real great.  Fun day with great friends!

The entire Ladybug Kids team found this cache on September 12, 2004.  We pushed the youngest member of the team as far as we could in a babyjogger and then she rode the rest of the way on Daddy Ladybug's shoulders.  The route to the cache passes by Grapefruit Rocks, a popular rock climbing area north of Fairbanks.

The entire Ladybug Kids team found this cache on May 19, 2007.  It was placed by our Shovelman, a good friend of ours who lives in Fairbanks.  We almost always stop at the Hurricane Gulch bridge to enjoy the views and throw rocks into the ravine below.

This cache was our 1500th find on September 14, 2007.  Geohounds Corky, Victor, and I climbed Penguin Peak with FrostG1ant late one afternoon and were treated to an absolutely amazing sunset during our descent.  This is one of the five most memorable caches we have found.

This is the first cache we found in the Juneau Borough on February 12, 2013.  It's a clever hide placed at a scenic Boardwalk overlooking the Gastineau Channel between the Juneau airport and downtown Juneau.

This cache is the northernmost cache we have found to date (2/24/2008).  It documents our find in the North Slope Borough on August 10, 2006.  This and all other Deadhorse area caches are located on the "public" side of the oil field security check points.  However, always watch for fast moving trucks and slow moving, but very large equipment.

The Alaska Borough and Census Area Challenge

My brother and I visited Wrangell during a Southeast Alaska COVID getaway.  This cache location offers a stellar view of a very scenic location.  The highlight of our trip was spending several hours at the Anan Bear Observatory, watching brown and black bear adults and cubs catch salmon.

We visited Seward on May 28-29, 2008, and I found this cache on my second attempt on May 28 after the junior ladybugs were tucked in for the night.  Great booming waterfall and views of Resurrection Bay from the hide location.
