Greenlaning Caches (WILTSHIRE)
Public
Geocaches that are directly accessible via or within short walking distance of By-Ways which can be lawfully driven by suitable motor vehicles. If you want to combine a Wiltshire greenlaning trip with geocaching then this list is for you. Where possible the UID (Unique Identification Number) of the Byway(s) is given. See www.way-finder.co.uk for further details of UID's and how to use them. Also, visit and join The Green Lane Association. www.glass-uk.org Hopefully others will compile other such Greenlaning Cache bookmarks for their county. Note: Since the NERC BILL (Natural Environment and Rural Communities) became act of parliament, many (if not all) By-Ways with the previous status of RUPP (Road used as public footpath) have been reclassified as Restricted Byways, thus preventing vehicular access. In some cases even though signed posted as 'restricted byway' they can still be driven due to pre-NERC application to upgrade and strong user evidence.
