A cache with some stuff for Kids! But beware, the area is very
challenging and may not be suitable for some cachers (esp. younger
ones)
Update: 1/27/02: Some feedback has been that this area might
be a bit rugged for younger cachers. Other feedback has been
positive. Please dont feel obligated to hunt for this cache if you
feel the cache area is to challenging for younger members. We
definately dont want to see anyone hurt or injured. Use your
judgement. My 3 sons hid this cache (12,10 and 7) and they enjoyed
the location. Hid by kids, with kids stuff inside (hence the name
they chose). The area has a lot of large rocks.
Update: 2/4/03: Do to a recent injury due to the ruggedness
of terrian, I have upped the terrian rating for this cache. I also
reiterate, DONT look for this cache if the you feel the area is to
challenging to negoiate. Team Narf decided to change the name of
the cache enlight of the posts.
Team Narf and Magoo placed this cache in the Sourland Mountain
Preserve.
There are 2 other caches hidden here ( Sour
Land Scramble & Balls of
Fire ) so make sure you bring the cache sheets for them as well
if you have the time.
This cache is certainly the closest to the parking lot to find of
the 3 (about a 10-15 min walk). Park in the only lot and proceed to
the trailhead. You may want to stop and pick up a Trailmap at the
kiosk. When you get to the second bridge your getting near the
place we left the trail. The cache has mostly stuff for Kids,
Pokemon Cards, hotwheels cars, a key chain, a music pen, some other
toys too. Magoo added a Heat Sink for a CPU and a geocaching.com
label/hat pin in case some non-kids want something.
Also added 8 Where's Tom Dollars, a Orange Geochip (courtesy of
Orange), a Lanyard and a small pocket knife. The cache is a camo'd
ammo box. GPS'r reception is skiddish at best here (only 6-7 Sats
with 17 feet of accuracy - we averaged 5 waypoints). If the first
few finders can verify the coordinates, well update the main 'tudes
with better ones. Also let us know if you think the ratings are
appropriate.
When we placed this cache, we also placed two travel bugs inside.
Team Narf and Magoo are having a cross country race, so help out if
you can!
Here are the pages for the 2 TB's that are racing Team
Narf Cycle & Magoo
Mobile.
