What's in a name?


A History lesson about some of the early beginnings of Pleasant Grove and how it got its name.

This cache consists of two Historical Markers and one final cache (that is why it's History “2” 0 “1”) You will have to read the Markers closely to get all the information you need.

2nd Location N 40°AB.C77 W111° DE.FG3

Information from the 1st Marker
A = How many Feet thick was the Fort Wall?
B = First Digit from the plaque number.
C = How many inches thick was the Fort Wall?
D = How many city blocks Square was the fort?
E = How high was the Fort wall? (Lower of the two numbers).
F = The number of the month when the plaque was erected.
G = How high was the Fort wall? (Highest of the two numbers)

Final Location N 40° 21.TTU W111° VW.XYZ

Information from the 2nd Marker
Z = First digit in the plaque number.
Y = Third Digit of the year "September 13th ????".
X = First digit of the year the plaque was erected.
W = Fourth Digit of the year the other Jolley Slaves were freed.
V = Third Digit of the date the Indian party confronted some Mormon Settlers.
U = Number of Indians killed.
T = Add the (First + Third digits) of the year a group of pioneers started a new settlement. Use this number twice (once for each T).

The Final cache is a little over 1.5 miles from the second Marker, but it won’t be hard to get to. It is a black ammo can. Please re-hide the cache as you found it so it doesn’t get found by anyone else in the area.
