Travis AFB is one of the most recognizable institutions within Solano County. Anyone who lives nearby knows the sounds of jets flying overhead as a fact of life, and to many outsiders it's a identifying marker for our area. Growing up in nearby Suisun City, I became accustomed to the jets that would fly over at all hours of the day and night. Visiting the base is always a fun adventure, as it often feels like a different world from the "outside." As geocaches are not allowed on military bases in the United States, this cache is not actually placed in Travis AFB, but rather right outside of it. In fact, you can see the main gate from the cache. Log only, so BYOP, but bring your small sized swag. Please rehide with plenty of natural camo. Parking is available across the street. As you're going to be near a major military institution, please practice EXTREME stealth. Stealth should also be practiced due to proximity to businesses. As mentioned before you'll be in view of the main gate so take caution. Enjoy!
