Khonshu
The cache is not at the posted coordinates. These coordinates are for the National Bottle Museum. It should be a nice place to visit! When you are done playing with the bottles, and you have deciphered the information below, you can then visit this mystery cache. It is currently a micro cache but I have plans to upgrade it to a small container.
Here I was doing a maintenance run on my cache, “A Famous Old Watering Place”, for another cacher that had inquired if it was still intact. I did this before my bi-yearly dental appointment in Ballston Spa and I finished rather quickly, making me early for my cleaning. Most people read magazines whilst waiting for their turn. I “read” the Jimapco Map, scanning for potential cache locations. This cache, and one other, are the results of that scanning. Oh, and did I mention I was doing this on my birthday? No?!?! Well, Happy Birthday to me!!
Khonshu, the third member (with his parents Amen and Mut) of the great triad of Thebes. Khons was the god of the moon. The best-known story about him tells of him playing the ancient game senet ("passage") against Thoth, and wagering a portion of his light. Thoth won, and because of losing some of his light, Khons cannot show his whole glory for the entire month, but must wax and wane. The main temple in the enclosure at Karnak is dedicated to him.
