Geocache Description:

World Tour Multi-Cacher Multi-Cache
Stage 13 of the series.
WT13-Stratford, England World Tour Destination
by JDandDD

Mr. Hutt passed away on June 27, 2007 from leukemia at the venerable age of 87. Those of us who had the opportunity to enjoy his performances over his many years on stage will miss his contributions to Canadian theatre.

William Hutt retired from the Stratford Festival in 2005 at the age of 85 after more than 50 years as a leading actor with the festival. His last role, Prospero in The Tempest, was also his first role in the Festival's first season. Over his Stratford career he appeared in almost all of Shakespeare's plays, but, somewhat to his chagrin, it was his turn as Lady Bracknell (in a dress) in 1975's The Importance of Being Earnest for which many people recognized him.

He also had a memorable performance as Sir John A. MacDonald in the 1974 CBC mini-series The National Dream. In 1975 he received both an ACTRA Award and a Canadian Film Award for this role. He was made a Companion of the Order of Canada in 1969.

Mr. Hutt made Stratford his home for the last several decades of his life. This cache has been placed near the bridge over the Avon River named in his honour. When he was home, you could see his familiar WM Hutt license plate in the driveway of the house just past the north west corner of the bridge.

The "World Tour" Multi-Cacher Multi-Cache is a cooperative effort of 18 Geocachers.   Each of the individual Stage caches may be treated as a normal, single cache.    You can complete the 20 Stages in any order.    Each Stage will include a *SECRET*, written on the underside of the cache container lid.    Don't forget to write it down if you plan to tackle the Final Stage!
