Geocache Description:

* * * ACCESSIBLE IN WINTER * * *

Located in the Castle Hill Conservation area. Well defined trails along the ridge overlooking School House Pond.

PARKING
Parking at Alpine Road athletic fields (off Route 126 and Sherman's Bridge Road).

TRAIL
Trailhead is on the left side of the field behind the third base coach's box (N42°23.764 W71°21.373).

Trails are suitable for agile, young kids. Toddlers could have difficulty getting across the stream. There is no longer a bridge over the eight foot wide stream. There's a small 2 1/2 foot embankment on either side and rock hopping across the six inch deep water should be easy if it hasn't rained recently (my five year old enjoyed it). Another alternative would be to cross using the tree that has fallen just upstream closer to the pond. Dogs welcome on leash or under voice control. Dense foliage may make it tough to get a good GPS signal; bring a printout of the topo map.
