This cache has been archived.

Royal Oak: As the owner has not responded to my previous log requesting that they check this cache I am archiving it. It is not normal to unarchive a cache, which has been archived due to a lack of maintenance.

If you wish to email me please send your email via my profile (click on my name) and quote the cache name and number.

How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

KT Power has been designed to fulfil two needs, for those who like a significant walk with 100+ geocaches, and an opportunity for less strenuous family caching by walking parts of the series. To meet both needs on a walk of approximately 15 miles the finds have been made easy. The series includes canal side caches originally set by pbowenwalker and dillonthedog.

The inspiration for this series was a most enjoyable day out geocaching the Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation series by Mel and Ray

If you need further inspiration try this iconic E.T. series in Nevada USA

General Notes:
A suitable starting point for those wanting to complete the whole trail in one session is Bridge 37 on the A537 'Cat and Fiddle' Road to Buxton

Rail link:
There is an hourly train service between Kidsgrove and Macclesfield.

Bus link:
There is a very steep descent from #117 to the A50 road below, where there is a bus stop for the Route 20 into Kidsgrove. But descend with great care.

Hint for Power Cachers about cache logging:
Except for #066 all containers are 35 mm film pots.

Logging caches Policy:
We don’t mind cut and paste logs, we expect them. If you’re going to write something or post pictures you want us or everyone else to see, please use the cache page (KT Power #006)link

We also don’t mind this cache page being used for writing notes, saying when you will be coming or are looking for other cachers to team up with.
For a challenge you can also state in your main log entry here how many of these places you have or have not visited in the past. Or which were your most memorable visits?

Series Badge:
From the nimble keyboard of HarveyJJ, to whom we offer our sincere thanks

When you complete the series you are welcome to award yourself the following well deserved Badge

A full account of the Macclesfield Canal can be found on this excellent web site Link The site includes maps with the usual information about parking spots, shops, pubs etc

After a hard day on the towing path, as you put your feet up, you might like to name one of the caches. If so e-mail us and we will see what we can do. COs' decision final of course!
