Geocache Description:


Intro:


This is a cache in the [The Beatles] multicache-series in Gothenburg made in reference to the “fifth Beatle”. Made origanaly in reference to the hoax of Paul death the cache excelled in it’s adverse description and structure. I therefore changed the story but kept the cache and the hiding place. Have fun exploring!

Story:


The Fifth Beatle is an informal title that media have applied to persons who were at one point a member of The Beatles or in direct musical contact with the "Fab Four". But that is not always the truth - George Harrison at one point stated that there were only two "fifth Beatles": Derek Taylor and Neil Aspinall and none of them actually played with the band.

Pete Best and Stuart Sutcliffe where both members of the band and John Lennon once suggested that pianist Billy Preston should join the Beatles, but the idea was dismissed by the others (Preston did however play a major part in the recording of the “Let It Be” album. Another man played a significant role in the finalizing of that album: Phil Spector was given the tapes and re-worked them. McCartney never approved of that and “Let It Be” eventually became the only Beatles album to be re-titled and re-released in a substantially different form. You apparently don’t need to contribute to the band in order to be titled the fifth Beatles.

In my opinion the producer George Martin is the favorite to win the title, who’s your favorite?
