[FI] Jyväskylä on koko maailmassa
yksi urbaanin ulkovalaistuksen edelläkävijöistä - Valon kaupunki. Vuonna 2009
Jyväskylä palkittiin city.people.light -palkinnolla kaupungin
valaistuksesta. Muita valon kaupunkeja ovat mm. Lyon, Seoul ja
Glasgow. Tämä kätkö esittelee kaksi kaupungin valaistuskohteista.

[EN] Jyväskylä is one of the
forerunners of the urban outdoor lighting in the world -
a City of
Light. In the year 2009, Jyväskylä received the
city.people.light award. Other cities of light include e.g. Lyon,
Seoul and Glasgow. This cache introduces two of the lighting
installations of the city. Other caches belonging to the series are
listed below.
[FI] Helppo mysteerikätkö, jonka tarkoituksena on esitellä lisää
Valon kaupungin valaistuskohteita. Mysteeri ratkeaa seuraavasti:
Tutustu seuraaviin kuvauksiin valaistuskohteista (lähde: Valon
kaupungin verkkosivut). Ota selvää missä annetuista neljästä
koordinaattipisteestä EI ole entuudestaan kätköä tai multin
alkupistettä. Tämä mysteerikätkö näistä löytyy koordinaateista.
Koordinaateissa N 62° 14.360 E 025° 45.906 olet Lutakon
puistossa. Lutakon puiston valaistuksellisena tavoitteena on ollut
tilan jäsentäminen, ei niinkään koko puistoalueen yleisvalaistus.
Nurmikentän aaltojen harjanteita ja syvänteitä korostetaan
pollarivalaisimista tulevalla valolla. Läheltä löytyy Kari Alosen
taideteos Kajo, jossa kivi, lasi ja valo yhdistyvät
ennennäkemättömällä tavalla.
Koordinaateissa N 62° 14.339 E 025° 44.880 voit nähdä
useamman valaistuskohteen. Kilpisen ylikäytäväsillan pääty on
valaistu syvän sinisellä valolla, joka korostaa betonipinnan
kylmyyttä. Alvar Aallon suunnitteleman kaupungin virastotalon
julkisivu ja piha on valaistu rauhallisesti. Paikalta näkee myös
Teatteritalon.
Koordinaateissa N 62° 13.867 E 025° 44.783 voit tutustua
Rantaraitin pylväs-, puu- ja kohdevalaistukseen. Vastarannalta
katsottuna maalatut puupylväät muodostavat oranssina hehkuvien
valopisteiden rivin – ne ovat kuin tulikärpäsiä! Myös puita,
siltoja ja taideteoksia on tuotu esille valolla.
Koordinaateissa N 62° 14.858 E 025° 45.361 on Kinakujan
silta. Sillan kansi on valaistu tasaisesti uuden kaiderakenteen
alle piilotetuilla loisteputkilla. Sillan alapinnan valkoiset
kaarirakenteet on valaistu sinisen ja valkoisen valon
sekoituksella.
[EN] An easy mystery cache, which introduces latest illuminations
of the City of Light Jyväskylä. The mystery can be solved as
follows: explore the descriptions of illuminations (source: City of
Light Jyväskylä website). Find out which of the four coordinates
does NOT already have a traditional cache or starting point of a
multicache. This mystery cache can be found from these
coordinates.
At coordinates N 62° 14.360 E 025° 45.906 you're at the
Lutakko Park. The illuminational goal for Lutakko Park was to
define space and not so much to create any general lighting for the
whole park area. The crests and troughs of the waves in the lawn
are accentuated with bollard light fittings. Closeby one can find a
work of art named Kajo by Kari Alonen. This artwork combines stone,
glass and light in an unforeseen fashion.
At coordinates N 62° 14.339 E 025° 44.880 one can see
several illuminations. The end of Kilpinen overpass is illuminated
with deep blue light, which accentuates the coldness of concrete
surface. The facade and the yard of the Rakentajatalo office
building building, designed by Alvar Aalto, are lit up in a
tranquil manner. From the spot, one can also see the City
Theatre.
At coordinates N 62° 13.867 E 025° 44.783 one may
experience the Rantaraitti pedestrian path along the Jyväsjärvi
lake. If you look at Rantaraitti path from the opposite shore, the
painted wooden poles form a line of light points glowing in orange
– as if they were fireflies! Also trees, bridges and works of
art are brought out with lights.
At coordinates N 62° 14.858 E 025° 45.361 is the Kinakuja
bridge. The deck of the bridge is fully lit due to fluorescent
lamps hidden under railing structures. White arched support
structures on the underside of the bridge deck are illuminated with
the mixture of blue and white light.
