Geocache Description:

This cache replaces the former Caching Around #19.
Please keep in mind that this cache is meant to be a little bit of a challenge – physically and mentally, so please expect to spend some time here, perhaps even making a couple of trips.
This multi is built around Stages 2 and 3. I love the area there, and wanted to bring you there as well. It's peaceful, quiet, and you'll see some wildlife - deer, ducks, and coyote.

Please read carefully the following description for each Stage:
In total you'll drive about 10 kms for the entire multi, but you'll also enjoy some great hikes.

I won't be providing any hints or help until after the FTF is logged.

STAGE 1:
The coordinates for Stage 1 are listed above. You'll be looking for an "Other" sized container that will reveal to you the coordinates for the starting point of Stage 2, along with some parking coordinates.

STAGE 2:
This is a night time only Stage! At the coordinates you retrieved at Stage 1, you'll find the start of a series of fire tacks. If you walk in from the path, you should find a tree with a single orange tack. When you arrive at that tree, you'll need to start recording a track log on your GPSr. To complete this challenge you'll also need to have a basic knowledge of Braille. (I hope you'll see the irony in that as you complete this Stage) Use that knowledge to walk a straight line to the next fire tack. Once there, let your GPSr settle for a moment in order to catch up with you, then use your knowledge of Braille to navigate in a straight line to the next tack, and so on. You'll know you've reached the final stop when you also see a vertical line of 4 tacks near the base of the tree. Now, look at the track log on your GPSr. It should reveal a single numerical digit. Use that digit to calculate Stage 2's container location as follows:

N43 44.A, where A = (Digit x 100) + (200 / Digit) + (2550 / (Digit x 3))
W79 49.B, where B = (1250 / Digit) - 200 + (43 x Digit)

Follow the resulting coordinates to the container at the end of Stage 2. You're looking for a Small sized container. Please don't leave any swag though. Here you will find the coordinates to take you to the Stage 3 cache. Thank you for putting everything back exactly as it was. Before you leave, you have a decision to make. You could walk to Stage 3 for the full experience (an extra wide smile on your Smiley when you log it) or you could make the walk back to your car and make the drive to approach Stage 3 from the other side. If you choose to drive, make sure you note the provided parking coordinates.

STAGE 3:
It might be wise to bring a friend along as you may encounter some wildlife. At GZ you'll find yourself at the bottom of a steep hill in a dense forest. As a result, your GPSr will really bounce around here. To help you out, go to where your device zeros out, then shine your flashlight around and look for a ring of fire tacks about 5' off the ground around a tree that's roughly 5" in diameter. When you place yourself at that tree, you're standing at the true GZ. You’re looking for a Small sized container. Please don't leave any swag though. Here you will find the coordinates to take you to Stage 4, the Final cache. Please put everything back as it was before you leave.

STAGE 4:
This stage can be completed either night time or day time. Night time will provide the cover for stealth, but day time will provide the ability to better locate the cache. You choose. Please bring your tweezers!

Remember to have fun along the way!

In our Caching Around series we've created hides that span the full spectrum of the Difficulty Rating, including the half-stops. You'll see the listing below, showing the difficulty rating then the Caching Around series number. Click on the number to be taken to that cache page. If you're new to the series, why not start at the 1.0 and work your way up to the 5.0 cache. You'll even be able to complete all the ratings by selecting caches that are in geographical proximity.
