Current Goal

We are trying to learn historical facts about local areas. We are hoping for information that we do not find in a history book.
I first placed the coin at the area of the Old Thompson, Mi. Dock. The signs I have uploaded will tell you a bit about the history of these docks. I personally love the story of the Christmas Ship. It is a good example of how life was here in the Upper Peninsula.

Retrieved from a cool multi in Oysterville, WA. I'll take it with me to the Kent cache machine this weekend and see if I can find a properly historic cache to drop it in.

This Historical GeoCoin was placed in a very unique spot. Lee Mission Cemetery is the resting place of Jason Lee (1803-1845) He was the first Protestant Missionary in the Oregon Territory. Arrived in 1834, he assisted in establishing the provisional Gorvernment and in founding Willamette University and the City of Salem, OR.

We found this neat geocoin in Historic la follette park in Kaukauna, WI. It was a great suprise being our first geocoin find. This park is named after Robert la follette. We was a congressmen, govenor of wisconsin, senator and even ran for president.

Look for this history geocoin on the move. Thanks! 😎
