Current Goal

This simple staff is not to be owned, but to be shared. Use it for a while and add your mark if you wish carve it. Paint it. Adorm it and then pass it on. Hide it in a bushwacker-worthy spot near a cache in Brevard or Central Florida, and post the coordinates in the cache or on the page. It is fair to find it more than once, but give others a chance too.

About This Item

Bushwacker's Bonus

This "bug" was started by Capaldo and I was the first stop on its journey. As part of my adornment to the stick I placed a travel bug tag on it so it's path can be documented. Treat it well!

The trials and tribulations of a quest...
I have been trying to catch up with this since i first learned of it 1.5 yrs ago. I saw when it popped up that it was water & bush, I knew that this was for me. Than the comedy of errors started in: couldn't get free to go due to logistics of van availability; than had kids at home due to Good Friday; than finally got everything in line, 24 hrs after it has published...scary. Off I went only to place 2nd on arrival (see the cache log for that expedition). Got home and email arrives and the game is still a foot and so the trip starts all over again. This time with better intel and planning, it made the grab fairly easy, but trying to get back was another matter (I did call before leaving to make sure I wasn’t going to have to make a 3rd trip). Off to claim the prize or...

One has a lot of time to think about this hobby when one is bobbing adrift for 45 min, the wind is blowing at 15-20 kts, drifting past land, and the jet ski just wont start. My kingdom for a paddle? Finally get it started and back to the ramp, only to learn that the cell got wet and I have no way to follow-up. Pay phones now cost .50 cents for 10 min only, but all is well that ends well and I finally met up with Blue Man and received the real bonus.

Final total stats for both trips:
225 miles on roads
45 minutes of bobbing
11.5 miles by jet ski (.5 by drift)
8 pounds of flotsam taken out of the intake
4.5 miles by foot
1 jet ski lanyard lost
1 cell phone soaked
and one Bushwacker's Bonus - Priceless!!!

The first caching team to attempt the find was unsuccessful! Is anyone else up for the challenge?

The bonus is back in play. Anyone interested in finding this one will need to visit 2 new caches in beautiful Osceola County - this cache
and this other cache. You will find the latitude for the bonus in one cache and the longitude in the other. I walked approximately 3 miles while hiding the caches and the bonus. The first person to hand over the facsimile bonus gets to have the real one. Carry on.
