Current Goal

This simple staff is not to be owned, but to be shared. Use it for a while and add your mark if you wish carve it. Paint it. Adorm it and then pass it on. Hide it in a bushwacker-worthy spot near a cache in Brevard or Central Florida, and post the coordinates in the cache or on the page. It is fair to find it more than once, but give others a chance too.

About This Item

Bushwacker's Bonus

This "bug" was started by Capaldo and I was the first stop on its journey. As part of my adornment to the stick I placed a travel bug tag on it so it's path can be documented. Treat it well!

Grab It (Not from a Cache) 6/16/2007 TAPnDi grabbed it   Visit Log

The Deed has been done.
The final stick location was near where Beachside Bushwack (appropriately) was located. If I learned something from this little bushwack experience it would be .13 miles can seem like 3.1 miles when bushwacking. Oh, and do not forget to bring water.
Thanks for the opportunity to find the Bushwackers Bonus, I have wanted to find this for about four years.
Its and your next adventure will begin soon.

Final note.

The call came in around 1100 today. Bushwhacker in the bush requires assistance. My lack of SAR gear did not deter me. I swung the police car around and headed in that direction. Screeching to a halt at the point of entry, I retrieved my stick from the back seat (not the 3 ½ foot, 2” diameter wooden stick that I take for heavy bushwhacking, but the nice aluminum, telescoping, spring-action-tipped one) and headed in. The cacher was quickly located and, after comparing notes for a minute or so, he retrieved the prize and we were away. I left him at his base camp with his medical team about to start intravenous fluids. Hand-off ceremony to be scheduled for this PM. Signing off. On-on.

,,,zero!

Well, the good news and the bad news. The good news is that the Bushwhackers Bonus is safely hidden in the bush and awaiting the next finder who “happens” upon it. I remembered the coords because I wrote them down on MY hiking stick (not the nice aluminum, telescoping, spring-action-tipped one – the 3 ½ foot, 2” diameter wooden stick that I take for heavy bushwhacking). I was pleased as punch and went about my caching way. Then I was looking for another cache and realized (the BAD NEWS) – “You lost the stick (not the Bushwhacker’s Bonus - the 3 ½ foot, 2” diameter wooden stick that I take for heavy bushwhacking). I was frantic. That stick has sentimental value; my sweet, loving grandfather had sold it to me from his deathbed. I looked and looked – maybe spending 2-3 extra minutes in the search. Anyhow, it’s gone - the 3 ½ foot, 2” diameter wooden stick that I take for heavy bushwhacking that is.

So, if some one finds my stick (the 3 ½ foot, 2” diameter wooden stick that I take for heavy bushwhacking) I’ll trade them mine (the 3 ½ foot, 2” diameter wooden stick that I take for heavy bushwhacking) for the Bushwhacker Bonus. Hmmmm!? What am I really getting out of this? Giving up the BB for my nasty ole bushwhacker stick (not THE Bushwhacker Bonus – but the 3 ½ foot, 2” diameter wooden stick that I take for heavy bushwhacking). Who ever finds 2 sticks out there I’ll trade for mine (you know which one). On-on!

Tabulations indicate that the qualifying cachers are: TAPnDi

Coords for the first stage are now headed out to cyberspace. On-on
