Current Goal

This simple staff is not to be owned, but to be shared. Use it for a while and add your mark if you wish carve it. Paint it. Adorm it and then pass it on. Hide it in a bushwacker-worthy spot near a cache in Brevard or Central Florida, and post the coordinates in the cache or on the page. It is fair to find it more than once, but give others a chance too.

Bushwacker's Bonus

This "bug" was started by Capaldo and I was the first stop on its journey. As part of my adornment to the stick I placed a travel bug tag on it so it's path can be documented. Treat it well!

Clarification #1

  1. There will be 4 qualifying caches. One per week for the next 3 weeks. Go and log each one – as they come out, or all in the last day – it doesn’t matter, Just find, or re-find, each one of them.
  2. I will then send a final countdown warning to each cahcer who has logged a find (or a re-find) at the 4 qualifying caches. 4,3,2,1 go – and tell where the stick may be found.
  3. It will be a land-rush start with anyone who cares to heading in that direction.

This way no one will wake up one day and say, “Oh, the stick has changed hands again while we slept.”

Ok, here’s the deal. The mad scramble technique of passing the stick has worked well, but I’d like to try something new. I’m going to send all interested parties to several caches in Brevard County over a given time span. Everyone who logs those caches will get an “engraved invitation” to hunt for the Bushwhacker Stick. These caches need not be visited in order. They DO need to be visited before the cutoff date which will be given later in countdown form (Spacecoast style). If you’ve already logged a find on these caches then you must log a note for your current visit. You must also put a note in the cache log saying that you’ve previously found this cache but are logging for the BBS. It ain’t gonna be hard, but one must “qualify” for the final by hitting each of these caches over the next several weeks. So that we can all be sure to be on the same page – let’s get out on the road to Zen.

Well, I was mindin' my own business, tryin' to decide how to spend a lazy weedend morning when I made the mistake of checking my email. For about 2 minutes I thought "Someone else is already on the way." But then I figured, "I need to get the shell game cache anyhow." Rationalization firmly in mind I sped out the door. I don't know who may have come after me - but I got it - here in my hot little hands. It looks good!

After a nice visit with The Chief, I returned to Burnzy to replace the token. Darned if I didn't drop it again. It was dark by then and without a flashight well...you get the picture. 😉 Enjoy the reset!!

Cachebrowsers did an excellent job hiding the Bushwackers Bonus stick. If you’re a fan of Wickham park you’ll truly enjoy looking for it. After finding the stick I called the Cachebrowsers and they met with me. We exchanged stories about the stick and some of the excellent caches in the area. Since I had previously found the stick I just wanted to get some pictures of it with its new adornments. I accomplished what I wanted to do so the stick is back where the Cachebrowsers hid it awaiting for the next bushwacker to retrieve it.
