I am entered in the Blue-Gray Geo-race of 2005. My mission is to be the FIRST car to have pictures at four Civil War Battlefields and race back home to Alton, Illinois!

About This Item

Hezekiah Pinto traveled to Antietam in 1862

To win, I must be photographed at these Civil War battlefields:
Antietam, Maryland; Gettysburg, Pennsylvania; Chickamauga, Georgia; Chattanooga, Tennessee.

After the photographs, I need to return to the Finish Line at Piasa Harbor Wildlife Lookout (GCRKCM), Illinois! Piasa Harbor, IL

I chose this racecar because my first car was also a 1975 Pinto. But back then, I couldn't afford a motor sticking out of my hood. Obviously, now I can. :)

The Pinto visited Antietam National Battlefield in Maryland on August 19, 2006. We will post some photos of the visit.

  • In front of the Antietam Visitor Center
  • The Dunker Church Union and Confederate forces fought around this church on September 17, 1862; more men were killed or wounded at Antietam than on any other single day in the Civil War. It is an unfortunate fact that all our progress since those days has not eliminated the terrible scourge of war in the 21st century world.
  • Civil War re-enactors at Antietam A small re-enactment was taking place at the battlefield and we couldn't resist getting a photo of the Pinto travelling "back in time!"

Deut31-8, I found the Pinto!! It was hiding out at Belk Park Cache. I will get it cleaned up and on the road ASAP. Now you have 2 entered in the race. Who will win?
