Current Goal

Like the folk troubadours of old, this little cassette tape is traveling around hoping to collect songs and stories along the way. If you find Troubadour, we hope that you'll record a favorite song on it and log the name of the song and your name on the insert. When the cassette is complete, Troubadour should be returned to the "DC CD" geocache (N38 57.181 W077 04.737) in Washington, D.C.

Found TB Troubadour in RDU TB Hotel. Will add a few tunes and send it on its way within the next week. What a wonderful idea!

Added some tunes last night. Kept with the R&B lesser known artist theme started on the tape.
First-Tift Merritt's Bird of Freedom from Bramble Rose. A local singer by way of Austin TX. Could be the next big female star. A mix of Emmylou Harris/ Sheryl Crow/ Bonnie Raitt who can really rock and sing a neat lullaby. Great live-a must see.
Second- Storyville's Piece of Your Soul (title song). Saw these guys when we were in Austin TX for a wedding a few years ago and cannot understand why they have not broken out to bigger stuff. It was hard to pick one tune from this disc.
Third- Little Feat's Spanish Moon. Don't need to say anything 'bout these guys. They ROCK!
Will release Troubadour soon, for now it's on constant replay in my truck.

What a cool idea for a bug. I'll add a few tracks and get it back on the road soon. I like the selections so far!

I like this travel bug! In honor of the Rock n Roll between Hillsborough and Carrboro cache in which I found it I will record Johnny Winter's version of Rock and Roll Hoochie Coo, and in honor of the North Carolina Piedmont and Orange County, where the cache is located, I will record some Southern Culture on the Skids (the rockingest band in the state) onto it.

I was really hoping to get this bug (and thanks to Nittany Dave for letting me have it). Last night, Jen and I went through our CDs, trying to pick out two selections to add - Southern Culture on the Skids, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Nick Drake, The Skillet Lickers, Robyn Hitchcock, They Might Be Giants, Jonathan Richman, The Highwoods String Band... So much to choose from. We'll see...
