About This Item

Holy Ammo Can, Batman!

This TB is called "Multi-Bug Riddler" because it is like a multi-cache using a riddle to find its location. It was inspired by the "Hide and Seek" TB by OzGuff in North Carolina.

There are two components to this travel bug -- a logbook that is hidden in a cache and the actual TB tag (stripped down for stealthiness, with a magnetic back and rubber band tether) that is hidden within 50 yards of the cache/logbook. The logbook contains a riddle pointing to the tag's location.

DO NOT TAKE THE LOGBOOK UNLESS YOU'VE LOCATED THE TAG!

[Picture : Riddler never goes anywhere without his logbook and can of deet!]

When you first find this travel bug: post your find here and include the riddle and answer that led you to the tag.

When you rehide the TB in another cache:
1) hide the tag within fifty yards of the new cache.
2) compose a new riddle for the tag location.
3) place the riddle logbook in the cache container.
4) log the "drop" here, online.

What a fun TB. We will take it to the Geo-meet next weekend and move it along.

Finally got Riddler in motion again today. I almost never hold TBs for more than a couple weeks but all the snow on the ground has made it difficult to find good hiding spots. I figured Log That Logic was a good cache for Riddler. So he's in the neighborhood of the cache and ready for action.

The rescue mission was a success! We overcame adversity of hunters a month ago, Turtle challenges today, fading light, and a tiny TB that had eight months to become buried. Timberwolf deserves the credit for the find - about 50 feet away from the cache atop a huge boulder underneath a non-trivial amount of mud. Here was the clue:

Boy am I ecstatic to be on another erratic!
Rescue me if you please, at a bearing of 160 degrees.

Heading back closer to CnC to replace with another clue.

Found on the erratic. A lot of mud and detritus covering it, but eventually got it.

Bummer! We arrived at the trailhead bright and early Friday morning only to find a sign telling us that the preserve was closed from Nov 17 to Dec 21 for hunting. I'm not bulletproof so the TB rescue mission will have to wait another month.

I can't make any promises but now that I've seen a TB in need of a rescue I may need to make a pilgrimage out this way while home for a turkey binge in a couple of weeks. I'll see what I can do, CnC.

Buddah-Dog
Q: It was first down and as the water boiled on the stove, I looked up to see Brady fire a pass down the middle for another first and ten.

TURTLE
A:Hiked up the hill and found Its Erratic. But finding the Riddler proved more problematic.
Read and re-read the clue, then I circled around for a minute or two.
Water boils at 212 degrees! Looked up and found it in the trees.

Yippee! The log book is now back in place and in the interest of getting this bug moving again, the clues have been made easier. Way easier.
