Current Goal

To travel far and wide, but ideally to Italy and North America. smiley Lots of movement please, even if a small way as 2 little children will be excited!

my sister Vivien died of breast cancer aged 39 this year. She had hoped to go to italy before she died, but didn't get there. She also always wanted to spend more time in the USA and Canada. Mostly she just wanted to see more, and share it with her 2 small children. A travelbug will never replace a Mummy , but we are hoping that sharing fun things like this will keep her memory fresh for them in a fun and emotion free way, seeing where vivien is visiting next.

Thankyou for picking up this travelbug and moving it on. If you would like to, please feel free to pop a small pink bead on, or take a photo of this travelbug somewhere beautiful for a vivien visits album. smiley

Alternatively, feel free to donate to her just giving page for the hospice at home team [i am afriad the minimum is £2, was hoping that 50p would be all right]  that helped her stay at home. No pressure and no expectations here btw, as we all have our own charities close to our hearts, just this one close to hers. thankyou. heart

Took Vivien Visits out this morning intending to drop in Hinxworth Place ( see pic ) , however I was concerned it might get muggled - so took to Water Tower, but that was not accessible due to road accident .... will try again soon !
Read with interest what the Hamsters posted - did I stop and chat near the Tree ??

Now this is very strange.

I had a plan today to take the Hamsters out on a seasonal caching trip. I knew Vivien Visits... was nearby so we stopped to pick her up on the way. I took a few photos of the view from near the Cachino Royale cache and we arrived at the cache... to find we missed her by a few minutes.

Ok shame, but we carry on with the plan anyway. We went to Christmas Tree 2009 (and 2010) and guess what? We missed her there by a few minutes....again!!

We never got to see Vivien, but the Hamsters, Guffer and the Mole had a few photos anyway, which I can put here.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas

PS - Peta Hamaster was there too, but someone had to take the pictures....

  • Weston Hills from Near Cachino Royale Open countryside near the cache site.

We did not get much snow here so this is not looking as Christmassy as some other places.

Part of the latest Harry Potter film/s was shot on location on top of Weston Hills above the bypass tunnel you can see in the distance.
  • With the cache - Christmas Tree 2009 (and 2010) Hamsters, King Boo and EllisH(amster), with Guffer Gecko and Mole open the cache. We found Aussie Homer, so we invited him along as well.

Shame we missed Vivien - twice in a couple of hours.

I was touched by the history of this Travel Bug.
I retrieved it from Christmas Tree cache just after I had added some baubles to the tree. (see pic ) I hope to be there on 12th night when the decorations come down and to take another pic just before that happens 🙂
Happy Christmas
