The tour has continued. Bubba thoroughly enjoyed the ferry ride. He got kinda scared when he looked over the side of the boat and saw all of the foam coming up along the side of the vessel. Thanks!

Bubba told me he just HAD to go back and see the boats. Unfortunately it was raining and there were no botas out on the water. To help pacify Bubba, I promised him we could go on our own boat ride on the ferry. Pictures to be posted soon.

  • Bubba and Speeding Element Bubba wanted to pose for a picture with me with the Space Needle and some Seattle waterfront in the background. What a good idea. Thanks for the idea Bubba!
  • View of two Stadiums Here is a shot from the ferry of the stadiums where the Seahawks and Mariners play. Yes I know the names, I just don't care to help them advertise.
  • Seattle Waterfront Here is a shot with the Space Needle and some Seattle waterfront in the shot. It was a fun ferry ride!

I finally told Bubba my real name, and he just laughed and laughed at me. I'm glad I didn't tell him what my students call me. (Well they call me a lot of things, but I'm talking about my teaching name...) I am still showing Bubba around.

Today I took Bubba to my classroom. He got all excited and started to run around the classroom. He found my aquarium and wondered aloud why there wasn't any water in it with fish. I showed him my class' snails. He must be hungry. Note to self... figure out what baboons eat.

I finally showed Bubba a globe and explained what it represented. Bubba whispered into my ear where he wanted to go next. He made me swear that I wouldn't tell anyone. "Don't worry, Bubba," I began. "The only secrets I must tell are when there is someone in danger and then I have to let someone else know." He kind of just stood there staring at me. Don't worry, Bubba. Everything will be a-okay and peachy-keen.

His tour of the area will continue. Class dismissed.

  • Bubba and the Snails Bubba was wondering where the water and fish were in the aquarium. He didn't realize that there were snails in there. He looked kinda hungry. I wonder what baboons eat...
  • Bubba Online I showed Bubba his personal webpage. Silly monkey...
  • The World is Your Oyster I showed Bubba the globe and tried to explain what it represented. I'm not really sure if he understood. Apparently he did, because he whispered in my ear where he wanted to go next...

"You naughty monkey!!!" I kept shouting at this mischievous monkey. "Stop and take a deep breath," I told myself quietly but still aloud. I remembered that monkeys, like the children I work with, sometimes thrive on attention, even when it is negative attention.

I finally convinced this baboon to sit still long enough for a photo of it near the water. Bubba really got into the whole idea of taking photos. He then became a photo hog. I tried taking pictures of other members of our tour guide, but Bubba insisted on being in every photo. I threatened to leave Bubba and he finally calmed down and he hopped into my Element and off we went. Photos will be posted later.

  • Bubba by the Water Finally Bubba stopped running around and sat still long enough for a photo opportunity.
  • Bubba by the Water 2 This is a view of the water from nearby the cache location. It really was a beautiful evening for swapping travel bugs!
  • Bubba and Bert Bubba got all excited about taking photos. He insisted on being in every photo. I'm telling you, sometimes Bubba can be so demanding!
  • Bubba and Carl Bubba and Carl the Killer Coral Snake taking a photo nearby.

I tried to leave Bubba Baboon at this cache, but he called back to me as I was leaving. Bubba called back to me and told me, "Hey Speeding Element!" (I didn't tell him my first name yet...) "What ever happened to that ride in the Element you promised me?" He then continued, "What about the fun and the excitement we could have?"

I stopped and pondered. I thought back and rememebered that he is now potty trained. (He used to wear a baggie around his waist to prevent him from messing himself. That has since been removed and he is doing a-ok in that department...)

After my moment of pondering, I thought to myself, "What the heck, I might as well take him along with me..." So I went back and grabbed him, and off we went. Thanks for creating such a fun travel buddy!

  • Up a Tree No more saggie baggie here...
  • Bubba and the Element Bubba wanted to pose after he got his way and came along with me.
