Current Goal

No mission anymore. Just a discoverable code on my car, Millie kestrel.

Please disregard everything below this line. That is the previous mission.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am in a race that starts October 22, 2016 at the 12th Annual Florida Finders Fest and goes to October 21, 2017 at the 13th Annual Florida First Finders Fest.

I need to gain as many miles as I can and then return to the Ocala National Forest in Ocala, Florida.

Please do not put me in hard to do or seldom found caches as I need to continue to move and pick up many many miles to win this race.

Please DO NOT hold onto me, keep me moving!

#436. Found this much quicker than I expected. Car to cache to car in appx 7 mins. All is well with it. A good end to a good year of caching.

#435. Quick/easy P&G.
I found 'the unexpected #2' not long ago and didn't see anything out of the ordinary there. So, I didn't expect anything too crazy here. But this one certainly lived up to its name though. Favourite point earned bc I'm definitely returning to show friends and family.
Log only has a couple more open spots for names. Will need to be replaced soon.

#434. Quick/easy P&G. Just kidding. This cache has been on my to-do list for far too long. Been several years since I've done the Rock Springs Run from King's Landing. So this is my first time with the kayak I bought this year. All paddle caches deserve a favourite point.
A random passerby knew I was caching. If you are reading this, 'hello sir!'
All is well with the cache.

#433. Saw this published and chose not to do the hour-long drive for the FTF. But then an opportunity arose a few hours later to visit my niece nearby. STF will do. Container was stuck tightly in the host. Had to come back with tweezers. I left the container only half lodged in there, so it should stay in place but also slightly easier to remove.
Make sure you bring some kind of tool with you just in case.
All is well with it.

#431. I DNFd this a couple times before. Last time was about a month ago. On my way for that 2nd attempt, a couple young girls called out to me from the field asking if I was geocaching. They said they randomly found an ammo box in the woods and had just downloaded the app. As an adult male walking by myself, I normally try to avoid discussions with strange unattended children. This is a 1st for me, being approached like that in the woods. It felt like the beginning of a horror movie or a dateline special about predators. But they took me straight to an ammo can without incident. Chris Hansen didn't come out to ask me what I'm doing...and no ghost children seem to be following me after that encounter.
Unfortunately they had taken me to 'Ember's Cache' (which I've found before) not far from this one. Bc of the strangeness of the situation, I didn't even realize I was at the wrong one.
But I came back today with jeans, long sleeves, and gardening gloves. Only 10 mins of digging around the pine needles and thorns today. I'm glad to get this green balloon so close to home off my map finally. All is well with it. Luckily I beat the rain by 2 mins.

#430. This is one of several easy caches on the way home from DT that I've left unfound, so I could make a quick stop on a busy day in the future. The future is here now.
Quick/easy P&G cache on Christmas. All is well with it.
