Called Cache: Stopped at the Heart of San Diego to drop off a TB that’s goal was to make it to that cache. Then headed over to grab this for my COTD. It was in the most logical place but well hidden. Nicely done.

Heart of San Diego: I had another bug that wanted to be dropped off here so we came to visit.

The Bear Valley Bear: made my way back here after work. Last time I attempted, the road was closed for resurfacing. All done. Made the find PDQ. Such a cute container. Giving it a favorite point.

Visited 9/4/2018 Pengwinldy took it to 4:10 To Normal Hgts California - 11.54 miles  Visit Log

4:10 to Normal Heights: Another pre-work Cache to tick off another piece of the pie for my 360 Degree challenge. The end is so close, I can almost taste it. Just 16 more to go.

Visited 9/4/2018 Pengwinldy took it to Engine No.8: Local Heroes California - 11.93 miles  Visit Log

Engine No8- Local Heroes: Even thou I already have my COTD for today, I made a side trip out to El Cajon to try to grab 2 more today. We were down in this neck of the woods for a BBQ and I need two more pieces of the pie in El Cajon for my 360 Degree challenge. Unfortunately, I only found this one. Just as I had arrived at GZ, 2 of the local heroes came out the door right in front of me and I felt like I got caught with my pants down, so to speak. I just said “hi there. I’m looking for a Geocache”. One of the young men was surprised there was one there but he thought it was cool. SL and added a penguin.

Visited 9/3/2018 Pengwinldy took it to Puzzling Combinations California - 1.33 miles  Visit Log

Puzzling Combinations: For those of you who know me, you know how much I love this game. Today was a special day. I made my 2000th Find! I have been caching since 1/24/14 and my current streak is 953 days in a row. Yes, I have logged one everyday since 1/24/16 and yes, I admit that I am addicted.

For my 2000th find, I chose this field puzzle cache. (Thanks, DegelDuo for the suggestion). The easiest part was finding the actual cache container. I had to figure out how to get to the log. There was one physical key inside. The rest I had to figure out. I got to use a few tools of the trade (TOTTs) to do that. After about half an hour, I had the logbook in hand! You def get a fave point from me.

I love this game for so many reasons. It is a social game (I have several geocaching buddies to go hiking with), good for the body (gets me out and moving around), good for the mind (figuring out these puzzles is mentally stimulating), good for the spirit (caching has brought me to some beautiful and tranquil locations) and it is FUN!

A side note: Yesterday, I received a note from a Girl Scout leader who took my geocaching class last week. She found the class impactful and was inspired to take her troop caching. They love it. This makes my heart happy!

    Happy Caching and TFTC!

Beeper Boulevard: Came back to avenge my previous DNF. This time it was easy peasy.

Visited 9/1/2018 Pengwinldy took it to Rub-A-Dub-Gandalf California - .89 miles  Visit Log

Rib-a-Dub-Gandolf: Thought this was appropriate after our morning of Harry Potter wizardry up the road. Needed this piece of the 360 Degree challenge as well. Twenty eight more to go. Getting there slowly but surly.

Visited 9/1/2018 Pengwinldy took it to Arbusto #8 California - 12.62 miles  Visit Log

Arbusto #8: Like others before us, No luck for me either. Beautiful day at the beach though. Wanted to share the pictures so having you visit.

Visited 9/1/2018 Pengwinldy took it to Freewheel California - 21.17 miles  Visit Log

Freewheel: came out to La Jolla for a Harry Potter event today and I knew I had a couple pieces of my 360 Degree Challenge to do our here so we combined the trips. Had lunch at the Sugar and Scribe up the road and after we put our name on the wait list, I took the walk to GZ. Once I got there, I happened upon a sidewalk sale. Two staff members were sitting right next to GZ and there was no way to be stealthy so I flat out asked them if they knew about the Geocache. They did and I asked them not to tell me where it was but that it would be difficult to search if they didn’t know about it. Made the find and had a nice conversation. TFTC.
