I was looking for someone to go with me on a Delorme Challenge Run to North Central OK and the Panhandle. I had wanted to take the 'wing, but the weather put the kibosh on that idea. Barb and her 35mpg Toyota answered the call! We left OKC at about 6AM and covered ~850 miles, knocked out 13 pages of the Delorme Challenge, found caches in 14 new counties, and had a GREAT time! We saw a ton of places and things that we would never have seen if not for Geocaching.

We found this cache pretty easily, but first I saw a dove sitting in the tree just to the north. On closer inspection, we noticed a nest with 3 babies in it. As I got closer to take a photo, the mama flew to the ground and started doing that "broken wing" dance to draw me away from her babies. I moved in to get a shot of the babies, but as it turned out, they were able to fly. That's exactly what they did before I could get a shot.

Thanks for a memorable up close wildlife sighting. Gotta love those!

What a gorgeous day! The ride down was a little windy, but nothing we couldn't handle on a 900LB motorcycle. It was so warm that I was in short sleeves, and she was in a hoodie.

This was a super easy find, but I did like the outer cache container. It had class, and was in an interesting place.

Nice place for a cache. I always enjoy finding these concrete ODOT right of way monuments. It looks like this one gets found a lot by accident, if the entries in the logbook are any indication. Thanks for a cool find!

Came out here at night after dinner at Watonga. Really nice night hike. We almost stepped on the cache the first time, but didn't see it. Came at it from a different direction, and voila! there it was. This is a nice cache. The original logbook is still there and continues to be used. There are a lot of old entries from a lot of names I know, and many others I do not.

There apparently is (or was) a letterbox here, too. Lots of letterboxers have stumbled on this cache and signed the log. Great cache in a great park. I give it 5 stars (*****)! TFTC! TNLNSL.

Barb and I were down here finishing up the last section of the Delorme Challenge. It was nice to find a big old 50 cal ammo can. We had to time it so that the lawnmowing muggle didn't see where we found the cache, or where we replaced it. I traded geocoins. The cache is in good shape, but could use a new log if anyone has one with them. Thanks for putting this big cache down here! We are off now to see Carpenter Bridge since it's only about 8 miles away.

Want a true adventure? Try this one AT NIGHT! We (Pooter2001, Alyssa, and I) started our assault on the mound at about 8:30 PM, and worked out way around to the west side, where we found a way to the top. We finished admiring the strange round (obviously man-made) depressions in the sandstone, then started looking for the cache. The coords put us off into space! So we spent a little more time up there, and hiked back down. After all that, we were determined not to leave with a DNF, so we tried again. This time, SUCCESS! Very cool hide in a VERY COOL place! Eric, you ROCK! TNLNSL, THANKS FOR THE CACHE! It was a great experience.

I was heading out to Western Oklahoma to do a little cache maintanence, and decided to try this one again. Last time I tried, it was almost closing time, so I didn't have enough time to search properly.

I searched every single think that is referenced in the hint, and found nothing. Then I started doing a far more systematic search and finally found it after receiving a clue. This is an excellent hide!

I see Ft. Reno referenced in a lot of Oklahoma History, but had never visited until I started seeking this cache. Thanks so much for placing it!

Mr. Bubba told us not to miss this cache, and we are so glad that we didn't! I was really impressed by this one. So impressed, I'm using this one for Page 63 in the DeLorme Challenge!

Every year for Kaitbryn's birthday, I take her on a trip on the Goldwing. She decides the destination, we check the weather, pack up the trailer, and off we go. This year she wants to go to Mexico for her 12th birthday.

I decided to head out of the SE corner of Oklahoma, to pick up the last Delorme pages in this part of the state. Today we left Ada at about 2pm and headed to Texarkana for the night. We got several caches on the way, and all were quality hides. What a beautiful ride through SE Oklahoma!

We found this cache after a thorough search. It was in good shape.

It was about 9PM when we found this one. Seems strange how that out here 9PM seems like the middle of the night. After signing the log and replacing the cache, I said to Barb, "Hey, get out of the car for a second." I shut off the car, turned out all the lights and said "listen".

We stood there for several minutes and heard... nothing. I couldn't hear the truck passing by on the highway. The wind was blowing, but there was nothing there for it to rustle. There was one solitary cricket making a tiny bit of noise off to the south. The drizzle coming down was silent, and probably absorbed any sound that there was out there. I think we officially found the quietest place in Oklahoma. Very strange for someone who is accustomed to living in OKC. Thanks for the experience.

Alyssa and I were caching after the monthly meeting in Norman. Today we found over 50 caches! That's a Team Okiebryan one-day record!

Ouch! This one is VERY well hidden. Ouch! I doubt it will ever get muggled! Ouch! I just got a stick in my eye! Whoa! my leg is caught in some briars! Found it even with the terrible GPS conditions. Ok, Alyssa, we can go back to the A/C in the car now! OUCH!

Wow! What a day! I got up early on Sunday and climbed onto the Goldwing. I left OKC at 4AM and headed out to rescue some unfound caches in SW Oklahoma. I rode 512 miles, swam about 250', got 5 FTFs, I don't know how many finds, and one really healthy sunburn. I saw Jupiter, Venus, Mars, and a very pretty Moon, a couple of snakes, a prairie dog colony, and about a million cows. On the way back to OKC, I got to watch a beautiful evening thunderstorm. This was some excellent therapy that I really needed. Ever notice that you never see a motorcycle parked outside of a psychologist's office?

This was my 2nd find of the day. I'd noticed yesterday that this one had not yet been found, so I thought I'd give it a try. Since it was a little before 6AM on a Sunday morning, there was no traffic coming by. I found the hide to be very clever. I unrolled the log and took a second to revel in the blankness of the log. FTF=Breakfast of Champions!

As for the name? How about Gypsum Corner?

Funny, this... when I stopped here, I knew about the virtual but had no idea about the multi. I had just collected the necessary information for the virtual, and was about to go back to the bike, fire up the phone, and see what else was in the area...when one of the Welcome Center hosts came out to meet me, carrying a geocache! She saw my GPS and secided I must be looking for it... lol So I found it even though I wasn't yet looking for it.

I came to Cushing today to watch Kaitbryn play soccer. How can we drive this far and have some time to kill, and NOT pick up a few geocaches?

Between games, we snagged Geomonkee and her "Boyfriend" (I'm getting old, and she's too young). Anyway, we ran over to Drumright to get this one. After a short search, Geomonkee found the small bottle. Did what we could to dry it out, signed the log, and headed back for another soccer game.
