Amnon's Code

One Of the most grueling treks you will ever take. Absolutley no trail anywhere. Bushwhacking for almost a mile on a vertical descent. Hang on descending and claw your way back to the top. 

Amnon's Revenge

At the Bear Rock Overlook near Little Stoney Falls.
It's a 5 terrain, and a 5 difficulty. Need I say anymore. Bring a friend for sure on this one. It's a long way down.
A cliff hanger for sure.

Bear Rock

The circuit will take you over approximately 10 miles of well maintained singletrack mountain biking/hiking trails. Of course it's a favorite of mine. Many local cachers and some from far away have met this challenge with grace and some had just absolutely no luck on their side. Pouring down rain almost washed The Pilot & Crew into the lake below. One of the best not so remote hikes you'll do.

Big Cat vs. C-Team

One of the best hikes around. From start to finish, The view is just beautiful.
Come one come all and join in the Big Knob haul.
Pick up several other caches along the way to and back from the high point 

Big Knob

One of the most brutal hikes you will endeavour.
This CO has a reputation of hiding some of the best caches in West Virginia. Come if you dare but remember that you have been fore warned of the nasty nasty whack you will do. If you make it to the cache.

Big Run Waterfall Cache

Awesome hike up the Boars Nest Trail.
You should  continue on to the Bushwhackers View Cache.
Great day of hiking is involved. Get them boots on and grab the hiking stick, pack up some food and water. Come take the challenge these caches offer up.

Boars Nest Cache

Welcome to the Breaks Geocaching Challenge!
You must find 20 caches. Your adventures will take you from the top of the gorge, eventually down to the river. You will hike a total of 16 different trails that will take you to the overlooks, and perhaps a few Earthcaches. As they sang long ago; Happy Trails To You.

Breaks Geocaching Challenge

This hike is well worth the effort as it looks out on the Canaan Valley as well as Dolly Sods. The surprise you will get when reaching the summit.
Very picturesque views await. 

Cabin Mountain Cache

Located off the Roaring Plains trail in the Canaan Valley area.
It is roughly 6 miles from the trail head. Be careful around the rocks, its a long way to the sudden stop at the bottom. Awesome view at cache site and along the way.


Camp Cody Cache

300 feet elevation of straight up. This one will test your mountain goat ability to stay upright trekking up as well as the return down. Be aware that it will test you. Bring your "A" game and something to steady yourself going up and coming down.... Lot's of luck   Let someone know that you are attempting this cache. 

Cardiac Hill

This cache is hidden on the top of Bearden knob. I mean on top. I pray you find this little jewel on your first attempt. It has taken others several and some never had the honor to claim it. Bring food, water, and a flashlight. You'll need all three.

Castle Rocks

A nice level hike but can be demanding in certain times of the year. It made the list because it took some geosenses to make the grab. You'll earn this smiley. 

Catche & Release

In a remote area of Canaan Backcountry. The first part of the journey is on Pointy Knob Trail, the last requires a 1.25 mile bushwack. Ok. There's the challenge. Many have entered the forest and found an army of spruce trees blocking the route. Choose wisely your attack.
Backcountry skills really a big help here.

Chimney Rock

This cache is along the North Fork Mountain Trail, which has been considered the most scenic trail in West Virginia by OUTSIDE magazine and others. 
I am not even going to try and say how beautiful this cache area is. Go to the cache page and soon you will be planning the trip. Guaranteed!!!!!

Chimney Top Cache

Nothing but crawling through and under some of the heaviest rhododendron found.

Climbing for Amnon's Code

Some of the best caches in West Virginia are located in Dolly Sods...definitely including this one!!! Lots of bushwhacking can be involved unless you love to hike. Come to Dimple Rocks for some panoramic views and beautiful rock formations. Don't wear shorts like I did. You'll be scared for life.
