A beautiful spot on a beautiful trail, part way in to the Gaspereau
River Trail Cache (GCZCGN).
We placed this cache on the Gaspereau River Trail with our son who used to come here as a younger adult with a group of imaginative friends. One of them, now caching under the name of Fun D, named this place The Sceptred Isle. This is one of our favourite family walks and a paradise for dogs who love water. It has several stream crossings and can be quite wet, especially at the beginning. It's a 20-minute walk out at an average pace (1.25km). This trail has great wildflowers and a carpet of low-growing Taxus canadensis (Canadian yew). Beech, maple and oak provide splendid colour in fall. The cache itself is winter friendly, though the trail might not be. Original contents include one TB, one Geocoin, 3 gift certificates (FTF can choose), LED light, toy car, stickers, log book, pencil and sharpener.
