Cypress can live for hundred of years, has "knees" that protude above the soil, and loses its leaves in the winter, hence the "bald" cypress name. Bald cypress is said to be the largest tree in North America east of the Rockies. Several large cypress trees and swamps are in Florida and can be viewed and experienced by boardwak, rivers, and trails.
