The listed coordinates are for the first stage of a three-stage multicache. Each stage is in a tree. The final stage requires climbing. The total estimated walking distance required to complete this cache is 1.5 to 2 miles. Parking areas are available on either side of the road near N 36 05.081 W 78 49.464.
Some of the terrain may be less than hospitable at certain times of the year. Some parts of the area are prone to flooding, and other parts are overrun with brambles and poison ivy, especially during the summer, when satellite reception may be impaired by tree foliage as well. In addition, all stages are on state gamelands, so take extra precautions (eg, wear blaze orange or go only on Sunday) during hunting season.
The first stage container is a brown plastic bottle. The second stage container is a bison tube. The final is a blue water bottle.
