Geocache Description:

This cache is an in your face taunt to Ol’ Man Winter to show us his stuff. (And perhaps a point to ponder about Global Warming? But that’s a different subject.)

This is an open challenge to Old Man Winter, who thus far, has been acting like quite a big wimp! QGirl mentioned the other day, that she just had her first “green” Christmas! Yuck!! And yesterday, December 26, 2006, as we walked through the woods putting this cache together it was 40 degrees and raining!
We are desperate to get the winter of 2006-’07 going, and so this is our attempt to get the Ol’ Man off his butt! It’s a very simple challenge; just try to bury this cache under your white stuff. And although there is an unwritten etiquette of the dare, we are going straight to the Double Dog Dare! Yup, you heard it right, we double dog dare Ol’ Man Winter to bury this cache!

About the cache: It is a three stage multi-cache, the final being a .30cal ammo can. The other two stages are film canister size. The final is a prize that QGirl won in a raffle at “Cookie Crumbles Trader 2” event in NH.

Original contents: Non-activated FTF Geocoin, FTF Button, Yellow Jeep TB, Care Bear Monkey, Hulk Football keychain, magnet spring clips, rabbit’s foot, airplane, paratrooper, mini paint set, compass keychain, assorted animals and other stuff. Log book, pens, pencils and stash note. And as usual, we hope you all get some fun out of it!

If you don’t mind I’d like to acknowledge the QKids for their help in getting this cache completed today. We learned a lot about the difference between an ‘idea’ and the ‘implementing’ of the idea. Today, the 27th, the temperature finally dropped to below freezing and although QGirl’s feet started to freeze in about an hour (wrong boots), we spent over 3 hours in the woods trying to get everything just right. It isn’t exactly as we had hoped, but QSon had the right touch to finally get us on the right track.

Parking Notice November 30, 2009.
This cache was set up for parking off of Browns Trace Road where the town of Jericho made a very nice parking lot for the users of Mobbs Park. But it seems some nearby residents were not happy with the new parking lot and now it is closed.
I added a second 'Alternate Parking', from there it makes getting to first stage a bit longer. But when you are done with the cache, you'll be closer to your car!
