Geocache Description:

A short circular route around Kingsweston House suitable for all.

The cache is hidden within Kingsweston House estate. This area is open to the general public and there are numerous foot-paths throughout the estate. It replaces the previous Kingsweston House cache which was in place for several years but has now been updated and converted to a short multicache.

I suggest parking off Shirehampton Road at N51 29.470,

At N51 29.684, W2 39.650 :- From this point how many urns can be seen on the top of the House ? Answer = E

The final cache is located at N 51 AB.(C-A)(D-C)F, W 2 KB.(J+H)(G*3)(E*2) (where * represents "multiplied by".)

Kingsweston House was built in 1712 by the architect Sir John Vanbrugh who also designed Castle Howard and Blenheim Palace. It`s original use as a private house has changed several times. During the 1st World war it was a hospital for wounded soldiers. During the 2nd World war it was requisitioned by the War office. It then became a school, and later a Police Training centre. It is now in private hands and used for conferences, themed evenings, medieval suppers, weddings and receptions, charity balls and lunches etc.

Do not approach the main entrance at the top of the steps if there is a function taking place. There is a tea-room (open until 4pm) at the entrance facing the River Severn.
