Runaway Railroad Traditional Cache
Cerviperus: Going to pull this cache finally. It's had a good run, and for the most part, people were able to locate it without issue. The original hiding place (an old log) has all but deteriorated completely, and the container itself has lost its rubber seal and the contents were pretty soggy.
Thanks to everyone who took the time to look for it, and again to those who posted comments!

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
Difficulty depends on weather and current season. During rainy
seasons, hunt could get muddy, and during the warm months of the
year, thorns and poison ivy are likely so be prepared to do a
little bushwhacking. This cache is on private ground between two
currently farmed fields. Permission was given by the local
landowner, but as always, please respect the area. You can park on
the paved road and walk to the cache (about .3mi), or drive down
the dirt access road and park within 500ft.
Years ago, trains made their way through the country right in this
very spot. You will be walking down what was, until about 1970, the
old tracks. A very small piece of the old rails can still be seen
at the edge of the paved road, and railroad ties can still be found
scattered about down the tree-line as you go. As far as we can dig
up, these tracks were last owned and operated by the Pennsylvania
Railroad. I placed this cache this afternoon with my grandfather,
Clothes Man, in honor of the first Travel Bug we ever found,
"Tricked Out Train - 562591", whose goal was travel to and from
caches dealing with trains. This is also our very first cache ever
hidden, so we hope you all enjoy finding it.
The cache itself is a plastic container with a screw-on lid, about
the size of a family-size soup can, covered in camo tape. It's
original contents were: "Tricked Out Train" Travel Bug, glow
necklace, 2 sets of beads, plaster turtle painted by my girlfriend,
2 shirt/hat pins, and 2 designer "milk caps".
The hunt shouldn't be too difficult, but it is not wheelchair or
stroller accessible. There is no marked trail, but it is a straight
shot to the cache and out again, and there will undoubtedly be
thorns and poison ivy to contend with during parts of the
year.
NOTE: People have been known to use the abandoned tracks as a
place to safely shoot firearms. If vehicles are visible from the
paved road (which they will be), please come back at a later
time.
As this is our first cache, please make note when you log your
visit any changes we should make, or any info we should add to this
page. When you find the cache, don't forget to sign the log, and as
always, if you remove something from the cache, please leave
something for others to find. Good luck, and happy hunting!
