The sun shone for the first time in 2007, and Squirrelly D went out
exploring...and found himself at a very nice location!
Killarney Lake is a relatively recent addition to Mount Work
Regional Park. There is a rough trail circumnavigating the lake,
which I highly recommend you check out.
There are at least two access points for the lake, but the one I
used (and the most scenic) is at 48:31.268, 123:26.921. From here
it is a beautiful 1-km walk.
The coordinates will lead you to a memorial. If you want the full
story, you should read this before heading out. Once on site, take
the time to savour the view and reflect...then go find the
cache, which is approximately 27 metres from the posted
coordinates at 114 degrees true. Cache is a 1-litre lock n'
lock.
Included inside is a envelope containing $10 for the first
finder for whom this is a 'milestone' cache of the "00" variety
(i.e. your 100th, 200th, 300th, etc find). Please honour
this rule!
