On top of Babilonstoring close to Hermanus
A beautiful but tough hike up Babilonstoring will bring you to the beacon on top at 1163m. It is possible to start your climb on either the Hemel-and-Aarde valley's side or on Caledon's side but you need to get permission from the landowners to cross their property to access the mountain. There isn't much of a trail and the baboonpaths seem to disappear and re-appear at random. At a leisurely pace it took roughly 2 1/2 hours to reach the top. A short distance from the second beacon you will find HeksieToringtand hiding in her den. We had a ton of fun climbing the mountain and setting Heksie up at this spectacular viewpoint.
