Geocache Description:

You can start from Basarabi (N44.1743, E28.4105) and drive the 40km to Adamclisi village.

Near your destination, do not miss the Tropaeum Traiani monument on the right of the road just before entering the village. It was built by Romans in order to commemorate the victories against the Dacian coalition in 101-102 A.D. We will let you find out from the local guides what 'church of man' stands for. In the village there is also a museum worth visiting were you can see most of the relics preserved from the site.

In the South-West part of the village Adamclisi, at about 600 m distance from it or about 1,500 m from the triumphal monument, on a plateau situated in the Urluia valley, the landscape is completed with some stone, brick and concrete ruins which are sprinkled on a surface more than 100 ha. It is the great city which developed in Roman Dacia for five centuries, Tropaeum Traiani.

Follow the road until you see the old city ruins, then look for the indicator to the parking zone. The cache is in the middle of the site near the main pathway.

Original content: pen, logbook, golf ball, 4 dordeduca stickers, car and goofy plastic animal.
