Deckard on Decker Blvd Traditional Cache
Chiggie: Sad to see our cache close down. It was our first one we ever placed out. It was to remember our dear friend whom we lost in Iraq, Sgt Matthew Deckard. We live further away now, so we are unable to replace the cache. Thanks for all that have came in the past.

Easy terrain. Please do not go into the bushes. Should be a reach and grab cache. Alot of Muggles. If coords are off, please email me. We checked it with 2 GPS's and average the coords. Thanks!

On 16 SEP 05 our friend Staff Sergeant Matthew Deckard was killed by insurgent forces in the Dora District Baghdad Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom III. The Charlie Company ,4th Battalion 64th Armor Regiment First Sergeant, 1SG Gifford and his driver SPC Ford were instantly killed by a road side bomb. Responding as the Quick Reaction Force QRF, Matt was driving a M1A2 Abrams Tank when a second larger blast hit his vehicle on the way to the rescue. We continue to miss him to this very day. He is survived by his 3 wonderful children and wife. As a tribute to Matt we have set out our first geocache in his name. He loved to work on cars for a hobby and to make some extra cash. The site chosen is one of his favorite places to shop.
