Geocachers' Action Badge Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

C Major and C Minor: Alright. It's time to archive this one. Maybe someone can plan event for February. I'd be happy to do it; but I figure some of you would like the icon. Maybe this can become a monthly get-together. The host could plan the theme or we could just collaborate on a cache like we did this time. (Right now The Essentials has me stumped.) To those who showed up, I look forward to seeing you again. To those who missed it, I look forward to meeting you.

Geocache Description:

The posted coordinates are not correct. The actual location is at the Division Memorial Chapel. 20 2000 JAN 07.

You might be a combat cacher if...

...you have ever been shot at by something larger than a machine gun while caching.

...you have ever been detained and questioned by a PFC wearing a brassard as a result of your suspicious activity.

...you have ever been denied access to the dining facility for being in possession of a GPS.

...you have ever told someone that you are inspecting the stuctural integrity of the bridge in order to conceal your devient pastime.

...you have ever low crawled in order to log a find.

...you have ever carried less than your basic load of ammunition in order to make room for your GPS in your ammo pouch.

...you have ever had to wait for a lull in the aritillary to continue your search.

...you have ever thought, "I hope this doesn't explode." while opening a cache container.

...you have ever SPed your platoon 20 minutes early in the hope of snagging a find before crossing the LD.

...you have ever conducted a battle drill while caching.

...you have ever traded your $80 watch for a bag of pretzels.

...you have ever earned a CIB or a Purple Heart while caching.

...your M4 Rifle is a travel bug.

...you have ever put 7,000 miles on a travel bug with a single find.

On a FOB roughly the size of Texas, there must be some geocachers out there. I have requested the use of Room 3 in Division Memorial Chapel for 20 2000 JAN 07.

Bring your travel bugs, coins, and stories. But no lame stories. If it doesn't involve an explosion or the inability to use one of your legs for three days, we don't want to hear it. Unless it somehow helps me find "No Porpoise for this Micro in Iraq."

The Protestants will be worshipping God in the sancuary. So if too many of you rowdy hooligans sign up, I'll consider an alternate location.

Remember, it's a chapel. So wash your mouths with soap before you arrive. Oh, and no one can leave until the room is in the same condition it was in before we entered it. So wipe off your boots before you come inside. And don't get all excited when telling that story about the mortar that landed right next to you, and break a chair or a table.

OK. I think that's it. I hope to see you there.

C Major
