Geocache Description:

This is a 2 stage multi. The first stage is a camo-concealed bison tube, and this is the most difficult of the two stages. The final stage is an ammo box "hidden" in the open woods. If you use the roads and trails, you only need to do a little off-trail at the end of the hike.

As you hike along on your search, observe the surroundings and you will find signs of people: old stone walls; abandoned houses, barbed wire, and even abandoned utility poles with power lines still attached. This area was obviously inhabited for many years before becoming a State Park. What happened?

Evansburg State park (3,349 acres) follows the Skippack Creek, and was originally conceived as a Park that would surround a large lake that would be formed by damming the Skippack Creek. As a result of detailed environmental analyses, the development of the lake has been indefinitely postponed. This has spared the 37 historic structures, including residences, farmsteads, a grist mill and the historic eight-arches bridge built in 1792 and still in use on nearby Germantown Pike.

The parking coordinates listed below will take you to a concrete pad off a dead end road. This area of the Park is open to hunting, so wear an orange hat if you come during hunting season.

Please obey all Evansburg State Park rules during your hunt.
