Clark springs trail is a well established trail between Miller and Carr canyon in the Huachuca Mountains. End to end distance is about 1.5 miles. The Cache is almost 1 mile from the Trail head at Miller Canyon road and it is just over a half mile from the trail head at Carr Canyon road.
Clark springs trail is a pretty popular mountain bike trail. If you use the trail head from Miller canyon you will notice at one point there is a sign directing cyclists to use an alternate (slightly lower elevation) route. Both routes merge together again so it is of no consequence which route you use. Elevation change is about 400 ft. The cache is a metal cookie tin painted dark green and is in the vicinity of a nice shady back country campsite.
There really is a "Clark spring" and it is down a hill not far off from the cache location. It runs most of the year.
I recommend using the trail head at the *end* of Miller Canyon road which has an excellent free parking area. You can reach the cache from the Carr canyon trail head if you wish but road conditions and parking are not good.
Be safe.
Spiders and scorpions often make their homes under debris that hide a cache so examine things carefully and/or use gloves. In the unlikely event someone gets hurt, there is a band-aid (or two) in the cache. If they are gone, just drop me a note.
Please don't overfill the cache.
If you notice that this cache is overflowing or damaged, send me a note and I will get it taken care of.
