Geocache Description:

The posted coordinates will take you to a bridge.
Our GPS reception was terrible at the cache site, but we really wanted to get everyone to both sides of the park so we decided to place a cache here anyway. Therefore, we are telling you step by step walking directions from the point of the bridge to find the cache. You should be able to get it without exact coordinates.

** Park at N 42 13.790 W 076 40.276 **

From parking coordinates, look across the park past the sandy volleyball court through the trees, and find the bridge (posted coordinates). Go over the bridge and get on the trail to your left and follow it along the creek. When you come to the long fallen tree that crosses the creek, continue on the trail around the bend about 25 yards or about 30 steps.
The cache is off to the left side of the trail in a large tall tree.
You are looking for a small camo container.
Bring your own pen.

Park Station is a great place to go if you want to relax and enjoy nature. It’s off the beaten path, located in the town of Erin, NY, but well worth the drive. It is open year round for camping. Pitch a tent, or pull your RV into one of the 40 electric, wooded campsites. Some of the campsites are located on the 100 acre stocked lake. A NYSDEC fishing license is required.
There are vending machines, laundry facilities, hot/cold showers, playgrounds, a camp store, a small snack shop, a baseball field, a sandy volleyball court, and horseshoes. Picnic sites with charcoal grills are found throughout the park.
Swimming and a large sandy beach are available weekends only from Memorial Day until the end of June, and daily thereafter through Labor Day 10am – 7pm. Car top boats are allowed on the lake. (Boats on trailers need a permit). Electric motors are available to rent to persons with physical disabilities. Also, rental boats are available at the boathouse when the swimming area is open.
There are several hiking trails located within the park. A self-guided trail brochure is available at the park office. Cross-country skiing is permitted. Winter hours are 9am to sunset daily.

Directions: At the intersection of Rt 13 and East Franklin St in Horseheads, turn onto Rt 223 (Breesport Rd). Go 5.4 miles and turn Left on Laurel Hill Rd. Follow signs to Park Station.

FYI- You may want to do this cache in the off seasons if you don’t want to pay an entrance fee. Also, be out of the park before the gates close at sunset.
